Our Story
Chance Meeting, To Partnerships
Years ago, David worked for Sandra’s husband for a few short weeks, but he made an impression on David. Time passed and Sandra’s husband died in a snowmobiling accident. David forged a special coin to commemorate his friends’ eternal marriage. It was a bronze coin of the Logan Temple (where they were married) and had their names and date of marriage on it. Flash forward to the day when her daughter was seeking help with a jewelry project and Sandra ran into David at Planet Fitness. She remembered the coin he had forged as a memorial for her husband, and they started talking jewelry. The next thing you know, a new business partnership centered around temple coins was created.

Coins Forged to the Highest Quality
David started creating jewelry using metals in 1992, ten years later he had worked with nearly every metal in the jewelry industry! Moving to Thailand, he spent the next nine years perfecting his skills with various metals, 3D models and 3D printers. He dreamed of producing something that would bring delight to purchasers and carry with it positive feelings that would touch the souls of those who owned them. In 2014 he was able to realize his dream. Returning to the US, he uses Lost-wax casting to create a metal master from brass alloy for each temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, depicting, in the highest degree of definition possible, a coin with a 3D image of a temple. The reverse of each coin is cast with the words “Stand ye in holy places.”

She loves her family and enjoys being involved in projects with them, that is what led her to Latter-day Coins. She had been listening to her daughter discuss a jewelry project she had in mind but needed the help of an expert. Sandra knew Dave from earlier days and when she ran into him by accident, she knew it was the hand of Providence and they started talking. She found the help her daughter needed and a new project for herself. She takes delight in the firm foundation the coins represent, a reminder that families are forever and are worth taking time for. She is excited and hopes that this will be a jumping off place to bring more of her family into the mix.
